At Nestledown, our goal is to provide top-notch, individualized care and training for our equine athletes to keep them happy, healthy and performing at their best. We also strive to instill strong horsemanship and sportsmanship in our students both in and out of the saddle. From Short Stirrup and Pony Hunters to the Junior Hunters/Jumpers and Medal Finals to Grand Prixs and Green Hunters, we want our riders and their horses to achieve their goals and find success.
Our beautifully designed, center aisle barn features 6 matted stalls with yoke fronts and gated backs to allow for fresh air and circulation. Each stall also has a corner-mounted fan and great lighting. There are two hot/cold wash racks with heaters, a spacious tackroom and storage room with laundry.
Our 125' x 210' traditional sand ring is complete with a full course of jumps for hunter, jumper, and equitation-style training. It has a sprinkler system for dry days and great drainage for wet days and is drug daily.
Class IV Laser maintenance services and Bemer sessions are included in board!
Our Kraft horse walker uses customizable programs to compliment our training program. It also allows our horses to continue to work on rainy days.
Circling the farm is a gravel trail and additional grass paths between the paddocks that allows the horses to be worked outside of the ring or enjoy a quiet trail ride.
Our grass paddocks are fenced with 4-board black fencing. Horses are individually turned out daily for a few hours.
Every horse and rider has their own unique goals to achieve. Our individually tailored program is a combination of diligent and precise training while keeping an emphasis on horsemanship and putting the horse first. From the first show with a new import or young student to National Finals with the veteran rider or horse, Nestledown is here to create a successful and supportive environment to help make memories!
Horses are ridden or exercised 5-6 days a week depending on their needs and owner's schedule. Horses are worked with a combination of training rides, lessons, and treadmill. The farm is closed on Monday to give staff and horses a quiet day. Training rides are scheduled for Tuesday through Friday mornings while group lessons are Wednesday through Saturday. Additional private lessons and training rides may be offered on Sundays, generally once a month.
Our program is made up of hunters, jumpers, and equitation. We welcome enquiries from the Short Stirrup level and up!
